Most of my trail cameras are 6V and eat up AA batteries 8 at a time. Changing out these batteries can get expensive and reduce the dependability of the cameras. An alternative to the standard 8-AA batteries is the use of a larger 6V battery or a solar panel with 6V power storage incorporated. This is a tiny little LiFePO4 battery. I got it for a little RC toy and it seems to work for the power, but the much lighter weight makes the RC toy a little unbalanced. I think it was designed for lead acid batteries so that the weight acts as a ballast to weigh it down. Not a fault of the battery. I may end up adding some extra weights to rebalance it. This battery arrived at 6.6v. I can't confirm the 4Ah rating, but it does run the RC toy for a pretty long time. The BMS doesn't seem to affect usage that much compared to some other batteries with BMSes that I've used. I have not had this long enough to comment on the 3000 cycles rating. ... show more

I plugged it into my load tester (the last battery before the tester bit the dust!) and threw a 2A load at it. It delivered almost exactly 4Ah of capacity after being fully charged. Because I was curious about what was inside, I opened it up. The cap appears to be sealed to the base and the battery secured inside with black hot glue. There is also a foam spacer to keep things from bouncing around. Inside are a pair of "ITR26/70-40e" 26700 cells in a 2s configuration with a BMS/PCB, presumably providing overcharge, undercharge, and overcurrent protection. ... show more

I needed a good value battery to mimic the lead acid when I do testing on my Suzuki Fa50, a 6V moped. This battery works well and probably could be used in other systems with ease; the battery is light and has worked well for the past few weeks of testing.

    • Give new life to your old lantern battery equipment
When comparing my 6V sealed lead acid (SLA) battery with this LiFePO4 I find they are equivalent right down to the physical size. The only exception would be their difference in weights which are 1.475 lbs for SLA and 0.56 lbs for the LiFePO4. I load tested the LiFePO4 for around 4.7 hours until its' battery management system shut it off. Beginning voltage and load - 6.56V @ 680mA. Shortly before shut off - 6.34V @ 660mA You're getting a good value with performance like that above. With some creative wiring a battery like this could easily give new life to your old lantern battery equipment. ... show more
