The item is as pictured on Amazon’s images. This one is really powerful folks so don’t get your fingers in between it and metal! Also, be careful of getting it stuck on unintentional objects such as lower parts of a METAL bridge! $!@&! You almost need a truck to get it off! Keeping checking your knots on the rope so you don’t lose your magnet on the bottom! I’d buy it again! ... show more

When tossing the magnet does get a little heavy. The rope provided is a multi strand jacketed rope with a good amount of stretch when you klink on to something big. The thickness of both the rope and the magnet help with retrieving and with pushing the creek/river bottom mud out of the way. Every time I go out with it I always get something! Set was delivered with a damaged case, I contacted woodland home goods and they immediately agreed to send me a new case, the rope and magnet appears to be of very good quality and extremely strong. Very heavy for tossing, would work great for dropping off of boat or bridge, hard to to get good distance from shore. ... show more

this is not a magnet for people who are just beginning magnet fishing, it dose get heavy after tossing it out a couple dozen times. but the magnet is pretty strong. the box that it comes in is pretty sweet as well. definitely worth the money!!!

Magnet cracked on both signed and eventually broke on both sides, it says 4000 pound pool in power which means 2000 each side it may have 100 lbs pulling power. They sell you on a nice set up and the magnet is super heavy to throw and lift and all in all the actual magnet is a 1/4” plate on each side that does all the pulling as you can see in the pictures. ... show more

    • Magnetic strength seems weak to me
The magnet is easy to remove because it seems very weak in intensity compared to the small 1" round x 1-1/2 long magnet. It actually seems many times weaker.
