Works well, does drain the water off and the soap isn't laying in a puddle of water getting soggy and gross. You'll want to clean these off from time to time as they do get soap-scummy on top and on bottom, but they clean up well, and are super easy to clean. I was not holding my breath with these, they seemed flimsy and I worried they’d become water logged and we’d have the same issues with the soap sliding off the shelf and flopping into a mushy mess. Not at all the case here! Dish doesn’t become water logged, stays in place as does the soap (the most important part). The bar stays dry between uses and no more sloppy mess! These work well for aerating a soap bar, however keep an eye on the underside as it can develop mold. I had to throw one out. I keep the other one completely out of reach from the water, protected by the shower curtain on the walls of the tub.
