  • Don’t listen to the negativity.
I am very picky with what I put into my car as it is my first big purchase, and having seen multiple look-alike models of this same infotainment system, I took a shot in the dark with this. Needless to say, it is one of, if not the most amazing purchases I have made on my Honda civic. It instantly modernizes your interior, giving you that sweet, 2015–and up feel to your car. (When cars had started putting infotainments in them with apple CarPlay etc.) it’s been over a month and a half of ownership, I live in Florida, so the car gets hot, and I never once have had lag issues, electrical issues, Bluetooth issues, heck I even downloaded YouTube on it and watch my shows when parked during my lunch breaks at work. This thing works amazing. So far so good within the month or so that I have had it. I’m so happy I made the decision to buy this. The interface is almost instant when it comes to the generic display. The apple car play is VERY SLIGHTLY laggy, there is a delay, however nothing that will kill the deal. If anything I don’t see my self toying with it enough to be an issue. I’ve used the keyboard while in apple car play for maps—and wow, super quick, very accurate, don’t need to press hard or twice to get a letter in the character box, and everything flows smoothly. The radio DOES work in the generic screen, and is SURPRISINGLY clear. When I turn my headlights on, the screen does dim ever so slightly, but that’s probably because of how much power & usage I am using throughout my car already. (I have external mods and ports added into it such as ambient lights that are not factory, obviously, etc etc.) It DOES improve the sound quality and audio as many have mentioned, and it certainly turns up the bass to the max. I personally haven’t changed it, since the bass is something I actually like, and when blasting songs it definitely gets your moneys worth for the speakers in the car. Super happy, I give 5 stars, it’s great. Only thing I will mention is—aside from the installation that takes time, due to the screws being very awkward on the radio part of the Honda— that it doesn’t support ALL apps when downloading from the play store, so you gotta kinda test what works and what doesn’t. However, when it does work, (such as YouTube,) it works well, crisp, and surprisingly clear with it playing videos of up to 1080p in quality. I’m very impressed with just how much you get with such a budgeted item. This is absolutely great for anyone who’s looking to get their first mod in their car. It’s great—really—and worth the struggle of installation. I will say the installation handbook can use a bit more clear instructions, however as many have mentioned, it’s a pretty simple plug and play if you’re wary of cars, and even if you’re not, I’d say max an hour or two of time should be worth the endless fun you’ll be having with this system. Overall, 9.8 outta ten. ... show more

  • Great replacement of outdated OEM stereo
So far, this has been an amazing addition to my 2009 Honda Civic! The Apple Carplay function is incredibly easy to use, installation was a breeze as long as you're patient and follow directions well documented by YouTubers, and quality has held up surprisingly well even in hot summers/cold winters. I would give this a full five stars, but the microphone that comes with the kit does not function in Apple Carplay mode. This will automatically route the microphone to the tiny microphone on the top left of the unit and sometimes even echos as it picks up a ton of noise. I spent extra time routing the cable and testing this function since I take a lot of calls from the road, but it did not meet my expectations. I searched in the settings on the unit as well as on my iPhone to no avail. With all that said, the main functionality is fantastic and I would recommend to anyone looking at the unit. The value is fantastic even with that small drawback. I have not installed the backup camera since I didn't really need it, but I will report back and update my review if I end up completing this install. ... show more

  • Breezy install, big screen, great deal, unhelpful manual for steering controls BUT got it working!
I had no previous experience with car mods or taking my car apart when I got this besides taking out a GPS out of an old truck. I got this for my 2009 Honda Civic. The installation is almost all plug and play, there will be an unused connector from the OEM stereo (I don't know still what it's for). I've used it for almost a month and didn't love it until I figured out how to get the steering wheel controls to work and that I can change the brightness settings for day and night time driving. To install the reverse camera you will have to cut and splice existing cables on your car, wire strippers for additional 2 conductor cable to connect/extend to the connections for the given cable (the orange one for the rear end), some pliers to crimp 4x B-Connectors, and ground one end by your rear brake light. You will also have to drill into your frame or get another reverse camera that mounts on your license plate cover (I recommend this but you will still have to find a way to get the cable of the camera through the back). Some folk had to reach out to support for their cars to get the right car settings to make their camera work. At first, I thought the unit was ridiculously bright, it wasn't until I figured out you can scroll future down on the menu for brightness settings (and steering wheel controls). I had an issue with the sound coming out of one speaker at first but that was because a plug wasn't all the way in or came lose during install. Once it was plugged in the sound was high bass and worse that my original stereo but can be tweaked in the EQ settings. I used the included DLINK5 app to connect to my android phone which brings up android auto on the screen. Android Auto sucks compared to just using your phone. Google annoyingly locks up basic features and usability for safety purposes and you get a watered down Google Maps and whatever app you like to use for your drives. To set up steering wheel controls: -Go to Factory settings>password: 8888>Protocol Settings>Daojun>Your Car Model (i.e. Honda>Civic Manual AC) -Go to the settings menu (with Factory settings) and scroll DOWN FURTHER to steering wheel (this took me an ridiculous amount of time to figure out that you could do!!!) -From there you can select what you want the button to do and then physically press and hold the button for a second to register it bottom-line up front: -this is a super EASY installation (30min-1hr without reverse camera) -BIG display, pretty responsive touch screen -steering wheel controls took the longest to figure out without a complete guide but it does work and is easy to configure -my biggest gripe is that DLINK5/Android Auto generally sucks at connecting without turning on and off the bluetooth once or twice for it to connect (rarely does it connect itself on the first try because it uses both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to connect) ... show more

  • Looks cool. Doesn’t work.
Bad instructions. But it worked good for a minute. It’s been a week of use and it cuts in and out. The USB connections to hardwire and charge your phone don’t work. The poor signal is due to a cheap receiver on these units.
