This is the exact same generic mic that for example is being sold as XIIVIO brand for $39. I bought these for bout that price. I know because I bought both mics and when plugged in they both show up as "UM-2". Also the mic specs sheet is the exact same. The mic works well for our purpose. We are using them in school classrooms for zoom purposes. It can pick up the whole classroom. It works similarly to other more expensive models such as the XIIVIO or the TONOR. We tried many different mics on amazon and they all performed similarly, but this one was the cheapest. Another feature we liked about this mic is that it is ON by default. This is helpful because we mounted these mics on the ceiling. For example, the TONOR mic is OFF by default, so every time you plug it into the computer, you had to touch the button on the mic to unmute it, which would not work in our scenario since the mic is mounted in a hard to reach place. ... show more

I bought this for some friends to use on video conferencing. This microphone allows their whole family to comment from where they are sitting. We tested it also in a small room and it picked up the sound good even when we were on the other side of the room.

Very good value for the money. I’m a teacher and have some students in class and some virtual so it allows the students at home to hear what we are doing in the classroom. Ordered for home office. Works great. I use it many times a day for work meetings. I wanted something that was small and out of the way and the mute button and led are great. I can set this in front of my monitor unlike most of the larger upright mics I found.. The sound level was a little low but turned out to be the mic input setting in windows.     • Solved Zoom Group Feedback Problem!
I have been VERY pleased with this omni-directional microphone! I have a small group using their smart phone video/audio in a room that are concurrently in a zoom meeting with others remotely. Our challenge was to be able to have the small group participate in the discussions with those in remote locations. We were challenged with feedback issues requiring them to turn down their phone volume - and not easily enter into the discussions. This omni-directional microphone allows us to turn down our smart phone audio and to engage in the conversations without feedback!!! GREAT price ... GREAT product! ... show more

    • Solved a pandemic related problem
I only wish I'd purchased this microphone sooner! For many months during the pandemic, I've struggled with the built-in microphone on my otherwise trusty laptop computer. Being that so many things related to my work have been on Google Meet/Zoom in recent times, the issues with my laptop microphone suddenly became a problem I didn't know I had prior to the pandemic; apparently my laptop's microphone isn't the greatest, because over time many different people frequently reported they couldn't hear me very well during virtual meetings. This handy portable microphone solved the problem immediately. It's small, lightweight, easy to use, and there was no complicated installation - it was plug and play.     • Microphone is good quality but surround sound is not good
When I plugged this microphone into my computer, I was excited that all our voices from whatever direction would be able to be picked up on our zoom meeting. Before, we had to turn the computer to face whoever was talking so that they could talk directly into it and be heard. I thought that if we sat this new microphone on the table next to the computer, the issue would be solved. Alas, it was not. It was still hard for those on zoom to hear those who were talking when they were at an angle away. To fix this, we have had to have each person hold the microphone in order to be heard. This works and is better than we had before, but it is not what we expected. The item description led me to believe that sound would be picked up at distances up to ten feet away. We will keep it since it works better when we pass it around the room, but would not buy this again. ... show more

    • I love the concept
I really like this microphone, I love the button on the device that's easy and quick to find rather than looking through multiple screens for the mute button. A simple click of the button and it turns the mic on or off. It's not muting the app, it's cutting off the signal at the device, so you can be sure that you're on mute and it's as simple as looking at the mic and seeing if the light is on or not. I think there are a few little things that iterative improvements can clean up to make a truly 5 star product. Sound quality isn't consistent from use to use, but it's certainly adequate.
