I know that I said the small is too small, which you would think could be fixed with get a larger one. The next larger one was too big. It was very sturdy, but can't even try it safely because my dog NEEDS this concept, but in a harness that will fit. She is a dachsund/spaniel (ish) mix. The photo is for size, not the product. Not safe to try to walk her in a harness that won't stay on. However, it seems sturdy enough, if not a bit difficult to figure out. ... show more

Great harness for teaching pup to not pull while walking. Much easier. The harness does the work of stopping him when he rushes ahead then stop and wait for leash to be loose. Pup is learning fast on this harness. Larger size is great for my 1 yr old lab who is very strong when she pulls on the leash with the collar but with the harness, it immediately redirects her without pulling hard on my wrist. From my research, harnesses are fine as long as they are fitted right and don’t restrict shoulder movement. These harnesses are very adjustable. Unfortunately I had to return this one. It was too small. Easy return. These are pricey! But I still highly recommend this harness system. It was the best system to use with training to help curb the pulling.

I have two of this style harness-leash in colors different than neon orange and they function very well. I would buy this style again if I ever needed to replace or have extras, but I just want to warn potential buyers about the color neon orange version. While the soft plush straps are a muted, pumpkin orange color, the nylon straps remind me of bright orange construction zone cones. The plush strap color and the nylon strap color are several shades different in that the nylon is very neon (bright). And in combination with the portion that are black nylon straps, it sort of looked like taking my dog for a walk on Halloween. If you like this color or color combination, all the power to you. Fits great and the fit can be adjusted in several places so it isn't too tight or too loose for dogs with unusual proportions. If you have trouble figuring out where the front/top/bottom is, the color-coded images provided are super helpful. My dog isn't a chewer, but I know this is a concern for many- The material appears to be nylon. Safe and sturdy as a harness but certainly not chew-proof. Keep it away from your dog when not wearing it. If your dog chews it while wearing it, maybe start with something else first until you train that behavior out of the dog. Something I didn't notice until it arrived was that there is velvet layer covering the bottom strap that goes under the dog's armpits, presumably for comfort and to prevent chafing. I appreciate this touch, even though I personally hate the feel of velvet. ... show more

Good harness for a small dog. I have a 35-40 lbs dog that is a puller. This works for now, but I think in a year we’ll need a new one. If you have a smaller dog or one that doesn’t pull like a maniac then I think this would work for you well. That said it has some great features to help with pulling and give it some versatility: 1.) Front and top clip allows for maximum control 2.) You can clip the leash to both clips or give your dog more freedom by clipping to only one clip which allows for the leash to extend from 2-3 feet to 6 feet 3.) Velvet on the harness under your dogs front legs means s/he won’t get rope burn unlike other harnesses ... show more

    • Wow Immediate Impression is Awesome

I've been fighting for three years, with expensive, fancy walking harnesses, and collars - including those suggested by my trainer. Nothing, and I mean -nothing- has worked. Even harnesses similar to this one. Wow. First walk out and there was a distinct difference! I think it's the combination of the front hook and martingale style back, together, that makes this work just right for my crazy girl! She hit the short end and stopped! Sure, she was frustrated, and reached around to bite it (hey, frustration intolerance is her big issue), but it worked, and that's what matters. The leash is ... different than I expected it to be. It's like a wrist/hand loop with a short (I'd venture 3') roaming style double hook leash sliding through it. I can see how this might get tangled around a very active dog's head, but we're going to suss that out, as the overall effect is awesome. I put "2" on stretch, because stretch is something you don't want in a harness that fits well on a wiggly dog. But I love how it has so many various adjustments. She has a martingale collar, and I used a short, hand-made attachment that I have for her other harnesses, to hook the harness to the collar, in case of pull-back emergencies, so she can't actually escape. I suggest everyone has a tether similar to that, when harnessing. 10/10 would totally recommend this for feisty, jumping, pulling little dogs. ... show more
