This works pretty well and was recommended by our friend's dog trainer. It doesn't adjust to exactly the fit I need and the smaller size would have been too small. It still works and he does pull significantly less with the leash clipped to the front. The harness is well constructed. Update: I recently purchased this item in a large as our dog had outgrown the medium. This doesn't completely solve the pulling problem, but it is vast improvement and better than anything else I've tried. The ability to clip the leash to the front is still the key to this working for us. If I clip only to the back of the harness he pulls like a maniac. I still have an issue with how this fits across the front of his chest, but other than that it is great. Overall, this is a good option especially for dogs with short muzzles where other no-pull options aren't a feasible solution. ... show more

I bought this for my whippet who was a terrible walker. They required it for our obedience classes. I use it every single day. It keeps a strong dog from gaining traction, as it pulls them to the side slightly when you use the front ring. It is easy to adjust. The under arm strap is covered in a velvet like fabric, so it doesn't rub harshly. My dog has bare underarms, so we needed something strong, gentle and effective. This is the harness for that. After a few months of daily use, it changed our daily walks to a very pleasurable experience. I highly recommend it. ... show more

Excellent harness. It makes an effective and humane non-painful tool for training your dog to walk on a loose leash. I particularly appreciate that it has a D-ring at the chest for training, and also one on top when you want to just let your dog relax and wander on leash. Within 5 minutes of having my puppy in this harness, she was happily walking at my side and watching me for cues. This harness was recommended by my dog trainer as a kind alternative to training my rambunctious puppy. Whenever I hooked her leash to her collar, her enthusiasm took over and she would run to the end of her leash, choking herself. It takes a little getting used to but this is a great harness for our frisky Brittany. One of the things I really like is that it can be the shorter 4' length and then just unhook one end and it extends to 6'. I use the shorter length on the street and the longer one on local trails when the dog can't be off leash. I had a harness similar to this one before so it was a short learning curve of figuring it out what clicks to what. The design also makes it easy to see if you didn't hook it up right. ... show more

Best harness I've bought so far. The velvet part for the chest if my favorite part of it, as it will not hurt my dog's chest as others have in the past.
