  • Brace yourselves, FREEDOM is coming.
I've only used this once (just arrived today) so I can't speak for its durability, but I am IN LOVE with this harness. It is a total game changer. Y'all have no idea how hellish this process has been. The No-Pull harness just straight up blew me away. Brace yourselves, FREEDOM IS COMING. I ordered this harness a couple of days ago after coming home from a horrendous walk in tears. He just... broke me. I thought I was finally going to resort a prong/choke collar, and the failure sank heavy in my chest. I've been working with my dog consistently for TWO YEARS to no avail. I've used every positive training trick I possibly could to get him to walk with me on a loose leash. I sought advice from my usual go-to gurus, following ZakGeorge tips, Kikopup tips, Reddit tips and more. I taught him a command to be at my side, used super high value treats, did the changing direction thing, and tried applying clicker training. We practiced on countless occasions in the living room, around the (fenced) back yard, and up and down the driveway. NOTHING WORKED. Now this is a dog who knows upwards of 23 words/commands and 11 accompanying hand signals. He is super smart and eager to please. However, when he's on a leash and we're out in the real world, it's like he suddenly has the super-human PCP strength of 50 men and the attention span of an ADHD kid on sugar and crack. He wants all the squirrels as his playthings (ALL OF THEM!) and God help us if we see any birds. Yet somehow, bewilderingly, his recall is on point. It's like his excitement is suddenly fueled by the energy of 10,000 suns by being on the end of a leash (yes I tried physically wearing him out prior to walking him... guess how that turned out). I don't get it. But I digress... Do yourself a favor and consider this harness if you have a puller. My palms have been so raw and my back/shoulders so sore... I cannot believe I didn't purchase this sooner. I won't use the gentle leaders and my sister-in-law reported failure with her two no-pull type harnesses, so I thought I was out of options. But this was like walking a different dog. He actually stopped when he reached the end of the leash. He didn't choke himself. He didn't knock me off my feet. HE FREAKING STOPPED. You have no idea how huge that was!! He knew full well the concept of "only a loose leash will result in forward motion" from many other collars and harnesses, but this time he actually applied it!!! Like, for real for real. By the end he was truly walking as if he was the somewhat civilized canine that he otherwise is. ASTOUNDING! Full disclosure: To date I was in no way compensated for my purchase or this review (because apparently that's a thing). I did watch a YouTube video for instructions on use before the harness arrived as prep and recommend that you do the same. Although the video demonstrates Method One from the harness pamphlet, I ended up using Method Four (both clips on back D ring) because I didn't feel confident in my steering capabilities. I also utilized as many techniques/tips from the aforementioned sources as possible (like I ordinarily do). ONLY move forward when the leash is slack and/or your dog is at your side. Have plenty of high value treats on hand to reward good behavior. Your mileage may vary. ... show more

  • Worth every penny!
Size: LG (Chest 28"- 32") Color: Hot Pink
I took my time and waited to leave a review since purchasing this harness. My 4 year old Doberman is a hot mess. I could NEVER take her on walks. All I ever wanted to do was walk her, but she would just pull no matter what type of collar I used on on her. I even used two different trainers to work with her without any success. I’m not a fan of shock collars but I even tried using one and it didn’t phase her one bit. I read through many of these reviews debating on trying it. With any item your considering there is always so many mixed reviews. Everyone is different and everyone will always have their own opinion or their own experiences. My experience and opinion on this harness is so positive with so much excitement!! This harness changed my world and my Molly’s world. I am finally able to take her on walks and I am so proud of her I can’t help but praise her the whole time. The control I personally have with her now is incredible. Don’t get me wrong she isn’t perfect yet with it and she likes to test the waters. But it has changed her and changed how her and I communicate with one another. I am so thankful I took a chance and purchased it!! I want to say you will too but I know one persons experience and dog isn’t always the same as another's. But hopefully my experience with it will help someone else and let them know that there is hope and this harness could possibly be what you have finally been looking for. Good luck!!! ... show more

  • Works great, glad we got it!
Size: 1" MD (Chest 24"- 28") Color: Teal
It's been only a few days, maybe 3-4, since we started using this and it has made a big difference! My dog is medium size (got him M) who is a very strong puller. Good points: 1.) No more hurting for my dog - I was already afraid his throat was hurting a lot when he pulls and pulls on a regular leash attached to his collar, usually when there's another dog in sight that he'd cough and choke after. But he would not stop pulling! The harness removed all that force from his neck. The force of his pull has also lessened. There was one time I was getting a doggy poop bag out to scoop his poop when another dog came in sight and he just bolted after him. I was not ready and really, I thought he could have pulled my arm off my socket. Since then, another off-leash dog has snuck up on us, he was already in this harness, and thank goodness, the pull was not as strong. 2.) No more hurting for me - The old leash I was using also grazed open my skin when he yanked it. That was not a fun night. It's not a problem with this leash, it has smooth soft materials. Although, I have to say, I've also been more careful about wearing a glove most of the time ever since that first incident. That said, I have used this without a glove when my dog pulled and so far, no damage on my skin. 3.) Less pulling force - I am ready to say, this front pull thing works. After looking at reviews of a couple of brands I decided on Freedom, so this is our first no-pull dog harness. With it, my dog's yanking and pulling does not feel as strong anymore (but if he decides to stand still like a statue when something afar is of interest to him, I still cannot move him. And I will not yank him either, I'm following training guides that says it's better to entice him to follow you of his own accord). 4.) The quality of the materials are good - I also bought my dog a long leash for playing and training at a local pet shop. I was disappointed that the metal clip (clasp?) was not very big. I didn't have any problems with it so far, but for a long leash, I'd imagine a sturdier metal clip. I was afraid of getting the same with this order, but nope, this harness came with a nice big, solid looking metal clip so I'm really happy with it. 5.) Pretty colors - I ordered Teal with a silver leash and I love the colors! The teal harness also perfectly matches the collar I ordered from a different supplier which is another plus for me. There are only two things I can say that may be a concern, but I don't think are real hindrances: 1. It needs to go over the head: head, mouth, dog = might be a problem. Unless you train your dog to like it, it's not always fun to have something go over a dog's head. My dog thinks it's playtime and the leash is for chewing or tug of war. He is trained to sit when I put on the harness or leash so this only happens when he is in an extra playful mood. There are free training videos out there on how to put harness or anything over your dog's head/mouth, so it's really not too bad, just takes a little getting used to. And since we've had a few days of using this, it now takes just a few seconds to put it on. 2. It's heavier - When I hold it, I feel like I'm putting it on a horse (nope, never had a horse!), only because it feels heavier than a regular leash. However, considering the materials, it's a very small thing and not a real problem or concern. I do think I should have ordered a medium 5/8 for my dog instead of the 1" but it's still good. My dog might still grow into it. The M is a little too big for my dog too (37 pds with 25" girth), even after adjusting it's still a teeny bit loose, but it does not also seem to be a problem. July 11, 2017 UPDATE: We still love this harness, but we just needed to update the review and reduce it to four stars (because we did expect it to last longer). It's been five months and we've been using it everyday since. It started to pull apart about a month ago on two spots as you can see in the picture. Need to get a new one now. Oct 18, 2017 UPDATE: Back to five stars. Read through the product policy again and saw tha they have a lifetime warranty. You just pay for shipping and they repair it for you. I have since sent my dog-damaged harnessed and received it like it's brand new! So yes, we love this harness! ... show more
