Good solid bro k of nice quality material. Took a ton of water to fully break the brick apart, Sony yea absorbing. Texture and color is true to the description and I didn’t notice any odd smells.

Using in raised garden beds. Easier to work with compared to others I've used. Broke down easy and quickly. Seems to have great moisture retention. Will definitely buy again!

Product is very course with large fibers. Does not break up or absorb water very well. After 24 hrs product was saturated after adding 7 gallons of water and did not expand as advertised . Instructions call for 10 gallons. Product is heavy and clumped after an extensive mixing cycle. Product slightly over-filled only two five-gallon buckets. Product was also under advertised weight. From my experience, Coco Mega Brick from Nutrifield, is a much better product. I mistakenly ordered this brand. ... show more

    • A years supply at a LOW Cost
We try to grow our own veggies (it is hard in the desert southwest with temperatures in the 110's daytime and 90's night time) so we use a lot of coconut husk to aid moisture retention. This Husk is great quality at a very reasonable price. the pH when mixed with our city water(base at 7.6) is a little Acidic at 6.8. Keep so remember that you may need to adjust the acid-base balance for your plants and areas. ... show more

It is an economical product that is more coarse hairs than ground coffee texture. It holds water and does not drain fast enough for some plants. But it is economical.

I am very pleased with this product and my plants seem to like it. I especially love that it's only 11 lbs, a manageable weight. I keep mine in a 20 gallon tote. Nope, that's not too big. After adding water to compressed brick, it expands to 18 gallons.
