My hornworms loved this, and it was easy to make. I didn’t use the whole bag since I don’t have a ton of hornworms, but if I decide to buy more of them for my bearded dragon I will use this product again and again. Delivery was quick too.

    • Organic Breeders/Feeders BEWARE
I breed silkworms on a small scale, as feeders. Since they're feeders, I bred them from all natural/all organic bloodlines. I have kept them on an all natural/all organic food since then, and haven't had any problems other than the food I get is premixed & preservative free, so the shelf life is pretty short, and whenever I need more I have to pay shipping. I came to Amazon to find something a bit more affordable, that I could mix as needed, and could take advantage of prime shipping. This stuff has good reviews so I gave it a try. My latest batch of worms are 1" and since I breed indoors with limited space, I split them into multiple, stackable enclosures in order to give them space to spread out and not get blobbed together in their own silk from overcrowding... and dying unless you find them in time to untangle them and split them up so they can eat again. I had enough of the usual food for all but 1 enclosure. That 25 batch of worms got this food. The next day, less than 24 hrs later, the rest of the worms were fine, there were only 3 of 25 left with this food. A couple days later, only 2 left. Needless to say, I immediately dumped this stuff down the garbage disposal. The remaining 2 I will NOT be using as feeders. I found space in an enclosure with large worms who are all finished eating and are now cocooning. There's still the old kind of food in there. They look questionable though, so not sure if I got them to safe food in time to rescue them... even though I won't use them. Ive got 1lb of the old food on the way now. I wouldn't use this food for worms you're going to feed your pets. And if you keep/breed organic worms, they can't handle this stuff so use with caution. Don't feed it to your entire population. Separate some as test subjects. 25 1" organic silkworm feeders are worth more money than this food costs, so not really worth the risk for us organic breeders. And definitely not worth the risk of feeding a pet you've kept on an organic gutloaded diet. If you don't have an organic bloodline, you're probably fine. But I still wouldn't use this for non-organic feeders after it ravaged 25 healthy silkworms. I cant speak for hobbyists or silk farmers who don't keep or care about organic bloodlines/gutloading, but if you have organics and/or you also use your worms to feed your pets, probably don't bother. ... show more

Seems equivalent to the smaller, much more expensive packages around. The silkworms loved it. I was also able to use it for the hornworms when their stuff ran out. Great deal. Thank you.

Cooking this was interesting but the directions were very clear and easy to follow. The silks loved it and the chameleons loved the silks.

Does the job and feeds the worms. Needs to have measurements for smaller serving amounts. I wasted a ton.
