My brother uses so much different products in his hair, it's rather ridiculous. I have been looking for a cruelty-free, high-quality, natural styling clay for my brother to use and I believe I found it in Smooth Viking Styling Clay! After using this product for a week, my brother won't leave it alone. He likes to do those pompadours and retro styles using this stuff and I am amazed at how well it keeps all day! A little goes a long way with this product, it's so thick you got to rub it in your hands to warm it up a bit and when you do, it becomes like a sticky liquid. The smell reminds me of a floral Elmer's Glue. (A clay is a clay, I suppose!) So if you are someone who doesn't like that kinda smell, I'd recommend something else or at the very least, use a little of this because it can overwhelm you. (The first time my brother used it, when he'd walk by..I'd get a huge whiff of the stuff!) It's a very concentrated styling clay and despite the smell, it works wonders for getting those looks on point! My brother had mentioned that the smell is well worth it, because he loves how well it holds his hair and how it doesn't give off shine. The matte finish is what really sold him! It's Pliable and durable and the 2oz container is actually pretty generous! I have noticed some volume in my brothers hair, as well. The texture and the thickness of the clay must create that extra va-voom! I am impressed and so is my brother. We both have rated it the same, 5/5! -The following rating comes from: 1 star- Packaging. (Is the item packaged well?) 1 star- Quality & Materials.     • It's hair stuff for dudes

Hey Guys...this is hair stuff for guys. It's not a topic we often like to discuss. I can say however, behind the protection an anonymity that this stuff works really well. Just a little bit goes a long way for a guy like me who has short hair and doesn't want to mess around much with sprays and sticky gels works really well. Basically...I want to spend about 30 seconds getting ready for work after I'm done getting my kids ready and this stuff does the trick. I'd say it works as well as the one other brand I've tried and for about $10 less per container. Hair stays in place all day long and allows me to make minor corrections throughout the day if needed (sometimes I just need a splash of water on my hands). One of my major concerns in purchasing this product (other than having to purchase a hair thing) was there were several comments about the smell. I think this is my third go around with this product and the first two I had did not have much of a scent to them. The newest container however has a much stronger smell. It's definitely more of an "old-school" musk type smell rather than the Axe Sprays (which generally smell like hot garbage and lilacs) but I wouldn't say it is bad. It also doesn't last very long either so I wouldn't say it is a big deal. I'd question the factory workers or machine that puts the manly musk in each container for consistency but again, not a reason not to buy it. Honestly, I'm not sure a 4 rating or a 5 ratings really means much except that I'm not being paid to provide feedback on this product. Maybe some more consistency with the manly smell of this very unmanly item would get it to the 5 atmosphere. Overall, good product at a great price. At the end of the day, it's hair stuff for dudes so let's not be too serious about it. ... show more

Bought this on a whim to style my hair. Honestly this does exactly what is on the label. It’s matte, non-sticky, strong hold. It also smells very fresh - like you got out of a fresh shower. Soapy, clean, refreshing to use! Well worth it

Really nice men's hair styling product. Held my hair in place without it feeling stiff. My hair feels nice, looks natural and styled well. I'm forever searching for the right hair styling product for my hair, as it's kind of coarse and wavy in some area. I think the product added a little moisture and softness to my hair.
